Good, clean fun
Dear Editor:
Saturday, May 7, was the 1st Annual Merino Fiou Community Clean-Up Day in Basalt. The Basalt High School Interact Club sponsored the event honoring one of Basalt’s greatest citizens. The Interact Club would like to thank the town of Basalt, Basalt Printing, Hightone Automotive and Tire, and Prima Plant Services for their sponsorship of this event. Also, Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers, town of Basalt Public Works, Two Rivers Cafe, and St. Vincent’s Church for their help in donating vests, trash bags, and chairs.
We’d also like to thank all the students and community members that came out to help clean up Basalt. Especially, Pam Schilling for her help in coordinating with the town and its employees. This event will continue to honor Merino and his efforts for the coming years. We hope to see you all next May!

President, BHS Interact Club
