Mountain Mayhem
A creative slew of contestants and an energetic crowd turned out for Aspen Gay Ski Week’s Downhill Costume Contest on Friday at the base of Aspen Mountain. The animated Miss Richfield 1981 took the stage as the host, dressed in red-and-white fur leggings, a skirt, bolero jacket and a bow with her comedic quick wit to match. The judging panel featured four pairs of local and visiting celebrities who, for the most part, gave high marks to all in the running for the prizes. Podium finishers included Scott Graham, who rode his snowboard down the slopes in an outfit made out of Solo cups for first place, the Aspen Club in second, which was praised for its entertaining act and clever names, and Miss Richfield 1982 in third for her impersonation of the host.
