Glidden: Veterans Day Ceremony; Nov 11, 23

What a beautiful Veteran’s Day ceremony on a perfect Colorado Blue Bird day. Our traditions carry on with a very nicely run ceremony, Thank You Charles Hopton. The laying of the memorial wreath by the Girl Scouts of Troop 15014 was well done, Thank You. The presentation of the colors by the AVFD Color Guard was “Outstanding!”
How fortunate we are to have Jeannie Walla and Richard Sundeen as part of our ceremony, with a beautiful song and a pleasant musical interlude followed at closing with a somber Taps. Thank you both.
I hold a very special place in my heart for those individuals who came forward to share with us their stories and to honor and remember those who paid the ultimate price.
I am most grateful for the compliments I received and delighted for those directed to the Colonel. We do these ceremonies not only out of a feeling of duty and obligation, but also out of pure love.
“Never Forgotten!
Thank you, Elks Lodge #224 for the yummy lunch. What a lovely way to end a delightful day.
Respectfully,
Dan Glidden
