Glenwood’s retail strong in August

Retail sales in Glenwood Springs remained on their strongest pace since 2008 through August with another nearly 8.3 percent monthly gain, bringing the year-to-date increase to 5.4 percent over last year, according to the city’s most-recent monthly sales tax report.

August had the second-largest month-over-month sales tax gain this year, following a 10 percent increase in July as compared to that same month last year, according to the eight-month sales tax report.
