The Glenwood Canyon bike path is fully open again after high water in the Colorado River prompted several weeks of closure from Shoshone to Hanging Lake.

Colorado Department of Transportation crews completed maintenance and sweeping operations Monday. With Siloam Springs to Hanging Lake opened late last week, the path is ready for summer traffic with no further closures anticipated.

“We were pleased to see, beyond general maintenance and debris removal to get the path open, that there was no structural damage to areas where there has been in the past,” Adonna McDade-Ward, CDOT transportation maintenance supervisor, said in a statement.

In order to maintain pathway safety, CDOT reminds cyclists and pedestrians to obey all warning and closure signs. Visit to check on status of the bike path.
