Glenwood Canyon bike path closed again

Aspen Times Staff Report
Aspen, CO Colorado

GLENWOOD SPRINGS – After opening all of the Glenwood Canyon bike path last week, the Colorado Department of Transportation was Thursday forced to close one stretch again because of high water.

The path is closed between the Shoshone Power Plant and the Hanging Lake Tunnel rest area – a stretch of about 2 miles – because of water on the path. That segment is near the western end of the canyon. The path follows the Colorado River through the canyon, east of Glenwood Springs.

CDOT does not anticipate reopening the path for several days, the agency said. The public is advised to check (click on Alerts and Restrictions) to check on the status of the bike path.
