Getting a greener Treehouse

Dear Editor:

My name is Rebecca Finkelstein. I am 12 years old. I have been coming to Aspen since I was born. I have noticed that the Skiing Co. has been making great efforts to preserve our environment. I see that in all of your restaurants you are using alternative energy and have recycling. I think that this is amazing!

The one thing that I noticed is that in the Treehouse there are no recycling bins. I saw a number of things that could have been recycled, such as the paper the children were coloring on, and water bottles. I also wondered why you don’t use recyclable cups? If the Skiing Co. is serious about its commitment to sustain and reduce its impact on the environment then I think that using recyclable cups, and having recycling in the Treehouse, would be a great contribution and a good example for the community. I look forward to hearing from you and to seeing the changes and improvements made when I come back next season.

Thank you for your time.
