Getting a bad rap

Dear Editor:I am writing this letter regarding the Feb. 12 article about Lea Cano (“Senior is fighting eviction from low-income housing”).I have been a resident of Crystal Meadows Senior Housing since 1997 and have never had a problem with either Jerlyn as director or Kerry in maintenance, since I have been here.Jerilyn has held the hand of those who were ill or depressed, or those who may have lost a dear one. She has walked with those who needed support. She has transported people to the hospital or doctor’s office when other options were not available. She has cried with us and laughed with us and has gone above and beyond the call of duty. Many of the things she does for us are not in here job description, yet she has been there for us and done more than her share. The same is true of Kerry, our maintenance man. Kerry has never once denied me any of the requests I have had to make to him and he has always been friendly and performs his duties quickly and without complaint. For anyone to even imply that Jerilyn does not fulfill her position or over uses her authority, or that Kerry does not come up to his duties in mainenance is beyond my comprehension. It is very disturbing to me and many of the others who come here to enjoy a peaceful living situation, to have someone blatantly mislead what Jerityn and Kerry have put their heart and soul into, so that we may live our remaining years happily and peacefully.May justice prevail.Lorraine LamoureuxCarbondale
