Dear Editor:It’s amazing how Sara Marks could attack Scooter Libby’s indictment, Judge Alito’s nomination, the war, the environment, pro-lifers, etc. in a single letter (Aspen Times, Nov. 1) debasing the Bush administration. You speak of the indictment of Scooter Libbey and use the phrase: “the grave nature of the crime.” Hypothetically, which crime would be more “grave”:A) Al Gore’s chief of staff leaks the name of a “classified” (not covert) CIA agent but is not even indicted for doing so; orB) Condoleezza Rice uses her top-secret security clearance to enter the National Archives, stuffs top secret documents re: terrorism and the Bush administration under her dress, sneaks the documents out and destroys them?Any fair-minded person would say “B” is more grave. Well, Clinton’s national security adviser, Sandy Berger, did exactly what is described in “B” and he got off with merely a fine.Sara Marks and all of the knee-jerk President Bush-haters in the valley, get some perspective.Donn WillinsCarbondale
