Dear Editor:The last day to register to vote in this election is Oct. 6. Ive been told by the Eagle County Clerks Office that if you mail your application and it is postmarked by Oct. 6, you will be able to vote in this election. You can check to see if you are registered by going to and following the link Am I registered. You also can get an application to register and apply for a mail in ballot. For Pitkin County residents, use and follow the links there. Or call the Eagle County Clerk at (800) 962-8477 and the Pitkin County Clerk at 920-5180.You can request a mail-in ballot up to Oct. 28 but they must be returned to the county clerks office (not the polling place, but the clerks offices in Aspen, El Jebel or Eagle) by Nov. 4. The required postage to send back a mail-in ballot is 59 cents. The clerks will begin sending out mail-in ballots Oct. 6.Voter registration will be held from 4-6 p.m. this Friday (Sept. 26) at El Jebel City Market and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays, Sept. 27 and Oct. 4.Vote!Gerry TerwilligerBasalt
