George Richard Heimann, 80, of St. Charles, Ill., formerly of Aspen, Colo., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2011 at Geneva Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Geneva.

He was born April 23, 1931 in Chicago, the son of Max Richard and Erma (nee Droxler) Heimann.

George proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. An avid skier, he moved to Aspen in the early 1960s to pursue his passions.

He is survived by his brother, Maxwin Heimann; a nephew, John Heimann; a niece, Jill Myers; and his great-niece and nephews, Casey, David and Ryan Myers.
