Geology 101

Dear Editor:

Roger Marolt, I happened to read your barely coherent rant column in the Snowmass Sun about how great the spring skiing up in Highland Bowl is. Always true to form, you just couldn’t help but complain about the rock bands that were visible. Not only that, you claimed the rock was granite.

While the rocks in your head might indeed be granite, any Aspen High School graduate worth their weight in twin-tip fat skis knows that the rock in Highland Bowl is sedimentary rock, not granite. What is wrong with you, Roger? The way I see it you’re one insane column away from getting your pass pulled.
