Fuzzy math
Dear Editor:
In response to Gary Pax’s letter “Gone crazy,” his math doesn’t work for me (Gary, ready for a 60 percent pay cut?). I don’t know where you shop, but until the cost of utilities, food, gas, durable goods, insurance and my property taxes decrease by 60 percent, I simply can’t afford to lower my wages and continue to live even marginally above the poverty level.
If you want quality work done by an insured professional, then be ready to pay standard wages for that individual’s skill. To suggest otherwise is an affront to myself, my 30 years experience in the trades, and all those qualified tradesmen out there trying to feed their families.
