Funny times in Basalt

Dear Editor:

Thank you to everyone who came out and made our inaugural Laugh in Lions Comedy Festival a huge success!

We showcased six local and extremely talented comedians in a friendly competition sponsored by Alpine Bank, KSNO and Stripped Mixers.

Competing were April Clark, Justin P. Strait, John Harrison, Don Chaney, Glenn Smith and Todd Hartley.

The band, Poser, and lead vocalist, Matt Harrington, did a fantastic job rocking the park and emceeing the event!

Our esteemed judges were Jennifer Sauer, of Alpine Bank, Les Helton, of KSNO, and Bennett Bramson, of Aspen Snowmass Sotheby’s International Realty.

A huge thank-you to Brandon Wallace, Missy and Marty Hagen, Heather Compton, Bill Simon, Patti Beiser, David Pudil, of Two Rivers Productions, and Jim and Angie Callen for their support before, during and after the event.

We had amazing food, beverages and door prizes thanks to BLT, Four Dogs Fine Wine and Spirits, Mountain Beverage, Zheng, Cuvee, Whole Foods and Names and Numbers.

Finally, congratulations go to Chaney for winning the Judges Award and Straight for winning the Audience Award.

We are proud to showcase our local talent and are already working on the second annual Laugh in Lions!
