Funds available for Carbondale-centric events, projects

Aspen Times Staff Report
Aspen, CO Colorado

CARBONDALE ” Carbondale is looking for a little marketing and promotional help from its friends, and the town is willing to pay for it.

The town’s voters in 2003 approved a 2 percent lodging tax to be used for promotion and marketing efforts. A special “events and projects fund,” which now stands at approximately $8,000, was established to support local events and projects that promote the town and attract visitors.

According to Andrea Stewart of the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce, the grants are to be awarded based on applications received no later than March 1 for events or projects scheduled before the end of June. For events scheduled between July and December of this year, applications can be submitted until July 1.

For information, call Stewart at 963-1890, e-mail her at, or check the chamber’s website at to download an application.
