‘From the Top’ in Aspen

ASPEN ” Even with music coming through our computers, iPods and cell phones from all corners of the world, it’s still something special to participate in a genuine radio broadcast, with a national reach, that originates from out own little patch of Earth.

The NPR program “From the Top,” which focuses on the country’s top young classical players, returns to town to broadcast from the Aspen Music Festival and School. The concert, at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, at Harris Hall, will feature four soloists and an oboe quartet ” all teenage students from the Music School ” performing, and speaking with “From the Top” host Christopher O’Riley.

The show is set to be broadcast Nov. 17 on more than 200 radio stations from coast to coast.
