From one fire department to another

Dear Editor:

The Crested Butte Fire Protection District would like to take the opportunity to thank the staff and volunteers with the Aspen Fire Protection District for loaning us their Life Safety Trailer during Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 9-15.

The theme this year is “Protect Your Family From Fire.” We taught students in preschool through fifth grade about fire safety in the home, at school and while on vacation.

The generous use of this educational tool cannot be overemphasized. We are but one of many fire departments and fire districts on the Western Slope that has benefited from the use of this teaching aid.

Please accept our heartfelt gratitude for use of the Life Safety Trailer to educate and instruct the children of our community regarding fire and life safety issues.

Scott Wimmer, fire inspector

Ric Ems, fire chief
