Fresh ideas

Dear Editor:Tim Semrau’s idea to upgrade the minimal appreciation cap on deed restricted “affordable” housing in Aspen makes good sense. The current minimal increase in value allowed is a definite factor influencing many of the valley’s working middle class to buy homes downvalley. The result is more commuting traffic and less qualified workers willing to work in Aspen/Snowmass.Yes, there are usually details and problems that need to be worked out with good ideas, but it’s refreshing to hear someone with some positive thoughts on how to improve the status quo.Scott SmithCarbondale
