BOULDER, Colo. ” Boulder police say freeskiing star Tanner Hall has been cited for possession of marijuana.

Police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley says the 25-year-old Hall, of Kalispell, Mont., was ticketed at about 1:45 a.m. Thursday after officers noticed a group of people performing “extreme ski stunts” outside a Boulder high school.

She says the packed parking lot at New Vista High School is what drew police to the scene. Officers then started talking to people and smelled marijuana.

Huntley says police asked who had the pot, and “Tanner Hall stepped up” and said it was his.

Hall was cited, and the crowd was asked to disperse.

Hall is tied with snowboarder Shaun White for most Winter X Games gold medals, with seven.
