Free home energy assessments in August

Staff report

Aspen renters and homeowners can receive a free Home Energy Assessment (a $400 value) if they sign up for an assessment during Aspen Energy Challenge’s August promotion.

The audit determines how much energy a home consumes and offers measures that homeowners and renters can take to make their home more efficient. Included in the assessment are up to 10 free LED bulbs or up to $100 worth of other such quick-fix items as programmable thermostats. The energy assessment also includes safety testing for carbon monoxide and radon, a blower door test and infrared imaging that measures air leakage and identifies areas of inadequate insulation.

Renters and homeowners will receive a personalized report outlining the best ways to save energy in their home.

This promotion is only available during the month of August. Register at or by contacting Energy Smart Colorado at 970-925-9775 or the Energy Resource Center at 111 AABC, Suite M in Aspen.
