Free fishing weekend this week across Colorado

Let’s talk fishing.

Whether we’re talking about a Andy Griffith-style whistle while you walk to the local bass and bream pond or FIPS-Mouche sanctioned world championship trout fishing competition, Colorado has it. And this weekend, the state is giving it up for free.

On Saturday and Sunday, Colorado Parks and Wildlife is inviting the world to discover the joy of fishing during the state’s annual free fishing weekend. Anglers of all ages can fish without a license anywhere in Colorado.



It’s a world of opportunity not to be underestimated with more than 2,500 lakes and reservoirs and 10,000 miles of fishable streams and rivers in Colorado. And when it comes to casting, Coloradans know a good thing when they see it.
