Four fires in Gunnison County all started by people
Aspen, CO Colorado
MONTROSE, Colo. – All four wildfires that burned in Gunnison County over the weekend were caused by people.
Fire managers said Monday that the fires all started as either ditch burns or slash pile burns that grew out of control.
One fire that started Friday north of Gunnison forced the evacuation of 58 homes but residents were able to return later in the day.
All but one of the fires has been fully contained. The Little Henderson fire hasn’t been contained at all but the approximately 60-acre blaze isn’t threatening any houses. It’s burning on private and national forest land.
