Forget the median

Dear Editor:

For a city obsessed with historic preservation, it is curious that Aspen would ever consider transforming Main Street, our signature venue, into a mini-look alike of New York’s Park Avenue.

Putting aside the overt multiple fatal flaws, i.e., lanes shifting for turns at different blocks, inefficient snow removal, excessive cost (did someone mention that this would be funded by stimulus package money?), consider one unintended consequence. Those second homeowners dreaded by the City Council may feel right at home, switch residences and vote in the coming election for change.
