For the community, by the community

To everyone involved with the successful sixth annual Basalt River Days Festival on Aug. 16 and 17, we want to say thank you! Being the co-directors of River Days is quite an honor. We are working with members of the committee who are truly dedicated in their efforts to pull off a magnificent community event. The Basalt Chamber of Commerce has, as part of its vision statement: “maintaining a sense of community and enhancing a connectedness of neighbors and business owners.” River Days is one venue for this, by offering a small-town festival with a balance of great music, quality artisans, variety in food options and diversity of kids entertainment and activities. River Days is “for the community, by the community.” We want to thank all the community members and visitors that came to River Days, as well as the committee members that all come together to make the festival a success. And without the many volunteers who offered their time to set up tents, greet vendors, sell tickets, serve beer, monitor parking or sell T-shirts, River Days would not be possible, so our hats off to them. And special thanks to our 2003 sponsors: Alpine Bank, The Aspen Valley Community Foundation Spring Board, Town of Basalt, Frias Properties, KMTS, Breckenridge Brewery, Aspen Earthmoving, Isberian Rug, Aspen Daily News, Cottle Graybeal Yaw Architects Ltd., Valley Lumber, Basalt Realty, Alpine Medical Group, The Roaring Fork Club, Community Banks of Colorado/Basalt, Basalt Trap and Skeet Club, St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Vectra Bank, Myers & Company, Roaring Fork Land Company, Sloop Painting, and Theodore K Guy Associates, PC.Rocky Mountain Sports Medicine, Big O Tire, Twisted Tree Landscape Construction & Design, Stephen T.
