As we near the end of the football season for my son, Jake, I want to extend a long-overdue thank you to the organizations and individuals who have made the Three Rivers Youth (TRY) Football League possible.
My deepest gratitude goes to the Aspen Elks Lodge No. 224 for their continuing support of this program and so many others in our valley. Thanks also to Aspen High School Athletic Director Carol Sams, the Aspen Rec Department’s Keith Bulicz, Blair Elliott and his crew at the Parks Department, the coaches who have given so much of their time and talents and last but not least to Ron Morehead for his long-standing support of youth athletics in our valley.
Through the generosity of the Elks, Jake has participated in the TRY League for the past four years. The TRY program has given Jake a love for the sport of football, but more importantly the program has taught him sportsmanship, how to be part of a team and respect for teammates and opponents.
I am very grateful to everyone who has made this program possible and to those who have made it possible for Jake to participate.
