Focusing on asylum

Dear Editor:

We are a group of students in the class of America democracy at Basalt High School, and we are working on a project that involves asylum on immigration.

We have focused on one immigration policy for those who are seeking asylum because of gangs or violence in their home country. We think that the federal government should add these reasons to the list of features for aliens seeking asylum from these causes. If you are opposing gangs and if you are in a particular group you should be able to get an asylum approved by the government.

For example, Jose Turbin should get an asylum approved by the government because he is getting support from his teachers from the school he attended at Glenwood Springs, support by his family and friends. Many people has been deported and killed by gangs, and we don’t want that. We know that this topic is of great importance to many people like us ” that is why we decided to announce our ideas.

If you are interested in supporting us please contact us at; we will be grateful for any attention given.
