Flunking chemistry

Dear Editor:

The Aspen Times staff, as well as The Snowmass Sun staff, need to brush up on their high school chemistry.

In the past week both papers have written articles about carbon monoxide and have used the symbol CO2 ” as in “CO2 detectors.” CO2 is the symbol for carbon dioxide. CO is the symbol for carbon monoxide. Two different gasses!
