Flash flood warning for Snowmass, Basalt, Carbondale until 7:15 p.m.

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning Wednesday just after 4 p.m. for parts of the Roaring Fork Valley, including Snowmass, Basalt and Carbondale.
Thunderstorms producing heavy rain, with more than one inch per hour in some areas, are moving through the area. Many areas have already received an inch of rain in the past 24 hours, the Weather Service reports.
Flooding is possible in Glenwood Springs, Rifle, Carbondale, New Castle, Basalt, Silt, Emma and Snowmass.
“Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life,” the warning states. “Significant ponding of water will occur on streets and highways. Exercise extreme caution.”
