Five years is enough

To whomever wrote the Daily Comment on Monday, Nov. 24, about the Woody Creek Trailer Park: you’re right, it is “time to quit bellyaching.” That’s exactly what we’ve been saying for the last five years, while the Housing Authority has kept us in bureaucratic limbo.

As far as your opinion that the housing authority should “throw up its hands …” and “the residents can have all the headaches, live through future delays and pay for their own infrastructure,” that’s exactly what we’re asking for. We’ll take the headaches, pay for the infrastructure and, as for living through the delays, five years has been enough.

We are very grateful to the Housing Authority for coming to our aid in 1998, but it’s time to stop patting their backs. It’s time to move on and give the people who have lived here for 30 years a place to call home.
