Fire Sale Party set at Aspen’s Wheeler

ASPEN – Commemorating the fire of exactly a century ago that destroyed Aspen’s Wheeler Opera House, the Wheeler will hold a Fire Sale Party Wednesday. The event, beginning at noon, will invite visitors to eat and drink in the building’s second-floor lobby.

Also open will be the box office, where tickets for select events at the Wheeler will be sold at a $10 discount off the regular price. The discount, available only to those in attendance at the party, applies to shows by jazz saxophonist Joe Lovano, singer-songwriter Shawn Colvin, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Texas troubadour Jerry Jeff Walker, “American Idol” winner Kris Allen, Motown legends the Temptations and others.

Doors to the Wheeler will open at noon and will only remain open for 19 minutes, 12 seconds.
