Finish the trail

Dear Editor:Your Jan. 14 editorial (“Scrap the dinner train and put trail on track”) was right on the money, $1.2 million worth.Dinner trains – are they serious? Who will spend the multimillions required to replace the obsolete rail, upgrade the right-of-way and do the other things needed before the first train can run. This “idea” is just another totally unrealistic stalling tactic by people who can’t accept reality.Jon Busch and his friends want us to forgo the “good” and hope for the impossible “perfect.” Unless government will spend the many, many millions required to bring back rail service, it ain’t gonna happen. So yes, take the $1.2 million before the scrap market fizzles and use these funds for a worthwhile project, like finishing the bike trail.Jerry EpsteinAspen and New Jersey
