Finish the job

Dear Editor:

The Entrance to Aspen survey confirms, once again, what people want: a straight shot with no bus lanes.

But, since they don’t have to drive it, Mick and the council will come up with ballot questions that are so convoluted as to be useless. Just like they spent a fortune on sidewalks to block the ends of Bleeker and Hallam streets.

We have urbanized all the way to the airport. Why not just extend Main Street all the way to the airport? Same configuration – sidewalks, four traffic lanes, a turning lane, curbs and gutters.

No, they’ll come up with a grand boulevard, with cut-and-cover tunnels, etc.

Anyone who has to drive downvalley knows that the current situation is ridiculous. And the HOV lanes are totally ignored.
