Finalists named for 9th Judicial District judgeship

Gov. John Hickenlooper’s list for a new judge in the 9th Judicial District is down to three.

On Monday, the state’s court system announced that Glenwood Springs attorneys John Neiley and Scott Turner are finalists for the job, along with Basalt lawyer Colleen Scissors.

The three were selected May 17 by the 9th Judicial Nominating Commission. The governor has 15 days from May 20 to appoint one of the finalists to the new district court position. The 9th Judicial District encompasses Garfield, Pitkin and Rio Blanco counties.
