Fighting the good fight against plastic
Dear Editor:
I would like to applaud the Aspen City Council and the downvalley communities that have either considered or put into place the controversial plastic-bag bans. For those who don’t know, the issue is not only local plastic pollution but also worldwide pollution and health risks posed by plastics not only to animals but to humans, as well. These health risks include child-developmental issues, hyperactivity, prostate issues and thyroid problems, just to name a few!
There is a great documentary on the subject called “Bag It,” a very informative and enlightening film about plastics. For those of us with a Netflix subscription, it is available to stream online. Check it out if you can!
I am proud to be part of one of many communities worldwide that are taking steps toward improving this planet.
