Festival of Lights

Dear Editor:

The Aspen Jewish community welcomed the first night of Chanukah with a warm and wonderful celebration Friday night at The Little Nell. We were all treated to the story of Chanukah (thanks, Gideon), a tot Shabbat (thanks, Shereen), a Sabbath service (thanks, Shereen, Ilene and Dahlia and Itzy), drumming (thanks Eden and friends), crispy latkas (thanks, Little Nell) and of course, the glowing lights of the menorah.

This splendid event could not have taken place without the hard work and dedication of Dahlia and Itzy Vardy of the Neshama Center and Marion Lansburg, Faith Leibel and the AJC Board. Also, many thanks to the UJA Aspen Valley for suggesting and supporting this great evening.

These events could not take place without the generous donations and participation of the entire community. So please continue to give your support and have a wonderful Chanukah.
