Fest to offer cartoons

Aspen Times Staff Report

“Pick Your Shorts,” a screening of cartoons selected by top comedians, has been added to the program of the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival, set for March 3-7 in Aspen.

The cartoon program, a benefit for the Starbright Foundation and presented by the Cartoon Network, will be held March 6 in the ballroom of the St. Regis hotel.

Tickets for “Pick Your Shorts” go on sale today at the Wheeler Opera House. Tickets are $10 for individuals, or $25 for a family pack for four people.

Video appearances by such comedians as Chris Rock, Whoopi Goldberg, Howie Mandel, Dennis Miller and Gilbert Gottfried are featured in the program. They will share time on screen with the likes of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Popeye.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Starlight, a foundation dedicated to the creation of projects for seriously ill children and teens.
