Fess up, Roger
April 8, 2002
Never a dull moment around here. I’ve got Roger on the run and he’s nervous in the service. Out of desperation, he’s now challenged me to a ski race.
When I hung ’em up two years ago – after 49 seasons – I was slower than a tortoise in the midday heat.
What’s interesting is that he didn’t deny writing letters under a false name. There’s nothing wrong with writing fiction under a pen name – as did Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain) – but commentary should be under your real one. To do otherwise is low-down and deceitful.
So fess up and come clean, Roger. You’ll feel better about yourself in the long run. Meantime, say hi to Lee Anne Marlets and Turner Hicks for me. I miss their salty tirades and regret we won’t be hearing from them ever again.
Now, why do you suppose I’m so sure about this?
