Fashionable fund-raiser returns to Carbondale

The fashions of Jackie O and Uncle Sam graced last year's Stepstone Center fashion show.

The latest in fashion, from the Oragami Line to Supreme Court couture, will grace the runway Saturday night in Carbondale.

It’s the second annual fashion and talent show, hosted by the Stepstone Center, at the Carbondale Community School on Dolores Way. The action begins at 7 p.m. with some highly unusual fashions designed by a local contingent of creative minds, interspersed with displays of talent ” or something passing for talent. Attendees are invited to make their own fashion statement (Monday is Halloween, after all).

It’s all in good fun, and followed up by music and dancing to The Hideouts. A $25 ticket at the door includes beer and wine. They’ll be other goodies for sale.

The Stepstone Center is an organization dedicated to social justice and awareness, and the Carbondale Community Co-op.

Tickets can be reserved in advance by calling 618-1104.
