Fanning the flames

Dear Editor:

To Art Allard’s recent letter entitled “Overheard on Smuggler”: If the musings and attitudes of ignorant, ditzy “new Aspenites” are truly such a problem, why do you have to resort to fabricating the nonsense they supposedly spew forth? Aren’t there some actual examples of profoundly dumb statements that you could have quoted?

It’s bad enough that some folks have to resort to making things up to paint others in a negative light. It’s even worse that the Times prints such tripe as if it constitutes thoughtful commentary. Get over yourselves.
