Family-friendly tour of Filoha Meadows on Aug. 21

The Roaring Fork Conservancy will host a family exploration of Filoha Meadows from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 21. Cost is free and underwritten by Pitkin County Open Space & Trails.

Parents and children of all ages can attend the event, which will allow them to explore beaver ponds, learn about the local bat population, and go on a scavenger hunt. They also will be able learn about the other larger hooved animals that call Filoha home.

Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately; the tour will happen rain or shine. Registration is required at http://www.roaringfork.org/events. For more details, call 970-927-1290.
