Dear Editor:

The little “discussion” between Roger Marolt and Tony Vagneur (letters, Jan. 16 and 17) about who is first in the pecking order is fun and a bit informative regarding the history of the upper valley. However, I am reminded of a quote (the author is lost to my memory): “It’s nice to be well descended, but I’m afraid all the credit belongs to your ancestors.”
