Falsely accused

Dear Editor:

According to Sheldon Fingerman, in his Aspen Daily News column on Monday, May 11, 2009, he doesn’t trust City Council. I accept his level of distrust; he may have good reason for it. However, his personal opinion is not a legitimate reason to allege that on election night, I told the voters they “really didn’t understand the vote on the art museum.” I said no such thing. Sheldon, you have spun my comments into the ethereal realm of fabrication. Columnists are not news reporters, they are opinion writers; however, when you conclude from your previous misstatement that “Like Helen says, they think we are all fools,” not only is your reasoning illogical, but for the second time in this column you have falsely accused me of a statement I never made.
