False advertising

Dear Editor:

I noticed the advertisement in the paper this morning, “Celebrate the early completion of the paving of the 44-mile Rio Grande trail!” It is not complete!!! The section from Cemetery Lane to Woody Creek is not paved, thanks to the self-centeredness of the Woody Creek Caucus.

I feel penalized as a citizen of Aspen that I have to put my bike in my car and drive to Woody Creek to get on the paved bike path downvalley. There is no reason they cannot pave half and leave half gravel, like they have done in other sections of the trail. Also, when you call the number listed for more information it is a disconnected number.
