Snowmass Tourism announced the September lineup of events, with Axes & Arms Walk, Snowmass Wine Festival, the VIDA MTB Series, Snowmass Balloon Festival, and the Golden Leaf Half Marathon. September also continues fun popular events including Music on the Mall, ACES Guided Hikes, The Collective Snowmass programming, and activities at Elk Camp. Yarn Bombing remains a daily activity through September and into October for late season visitors.

“September in Snowmass is truly spectacular,” says Rose Abello, Snowmass’ tourism director. “A line up of classic events with incredible fall foliage that can be seen from anywhere in the Village. Fall is here, and we are ready to welcome it!”

Axes & Arms Walk – Sept. 11: Join local first responders for a walk from Town Park Station to the Top of the Village, 956ft, the highest number of feet that the brave New York first responders walked inside the first tower of The World Trade Center. The climb, which takes place from 6-8 p.m., is free and open to the public; donations to the Axes and Arms Foundation are accepted and appreciated.

Snowmass Wine Festival – Sept. 16: Experience an incredible afternoon of wine, food, sights, and sounds at the Snowmass Wine Festival, hosted by the Rotary Club of Snowmass Village. Returning for its 21st year, the festival features 30+ tables of wine from around the world enjoyed under the tents at Snowmass Town Park on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 1:30-5 p.m. The festival also showcases food from local restaurants, music, and a silent auction to benefit the Rotary Club of Snowmass Village. Don’t miss a special wine dinner featuring Washington wines on Friday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. at Viceroy Snowmass. 100% of every dollar benefits local, non-profit organizations across the Roaring Fork Valley and charitable organizations worldwide. Must be 21 or older to taste wines.

VNTRbirds presents VIDA MTB Series – Sept. 16-17: VNTRbirds encourage women through outdoor education and adventure. Women-run and based in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, VNTRbirds brings women to the outdoors through mountain biking, backcountry skiing, splitboarding, and community meet ups. These experiences bring women together and help create more confidence and self-reliance in the outdoors. The VIDA MTB Series, Sept. 16-17, provides women with the opportunity to enhance their riding skills, connect with VNTRbirds coaches, and fully immerse themselves into the nitty-gritty of proper biking technique and the confidence needed to tackle new challenges. Over the course of the weekend, participants are grouped with other ladies with similar experience and goals, so all can progress together in a comfortable and supportive environment. The weekend includes personalized small group mountain biking instruction, lunch, lift tickets, Yeti Cycles demos, schwag bags, and so much more.

Snowmass Balloon Festival – Sept. 22-24: The Snowmass Balloon Festival celebrates its 48th anniversary in 2023. The long-standing Rocky Mountain tradition features three days of 30+ festive balloons launching into the air from 7:30-9 a.m. amidst the sunrise and the stunning background of Snowmass in the fall.

Golden Leaf Half Marathon – Sept. 23: Chosen by Trail Runner magazine as one of “America’s 14 Most Scenic Races,” this classic trail running race from Snowmass to Aspen is an annual sell out that provides 980′ elevation gain and a 1,712-foot descent over its 13.1 miles.
