Local photographer Jeremy Joseph’s new artwork is eye-catching — literally. His new iris photography business launched on Feb. 28 and will be hosting a photography event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 4 at the Mother’s Day Market at The Arts Campus in Willits.
“The main goal for iris photography is to help reveal people’s inner beauty,” Joseph explained. “The eyes hold the window to the soul, and I want to bring that to life.”

Joseph’s journey into the world of photography has been a dedicated one, from setting up his own classic art gallery in Basalt to expanding his photography business into new art forms as he widens the lens of his creative pursuits.
In 2011, he graduated from the esteemed photography program at the Colorado Mountain College campus nestled between Glenwood and Carbondale. More recently, he embarked on some specialized training to learn the craft of iris photography.
Early this year, he launched a new project in iris photography. It’s a technique where he takes the image of the iris in the eye and then puts his own special spin on it.
Armed with a general blueprint, he combined his two decades of photography knowledge and his boundless creative spirit with this new art form to add his own personal spin on it.

“At a macro level, I’m photographing people’s eyes. Then, I want to create something meaningful — something that won’t just end up buried in a photo album and forgotten,” Joseph explained. “My aim is to transform fleeting digital images into a treasured piece of art.”
To celebrate mothers, Jeremy Joseph Photography is announcing a special 15% discount on print orders placed before Mother’s Day.
This will include print orders taken during photography sessions at the Mother’s Day Market on May 4 at TACAW.

“I’ll shoot live in a small on-site studio,” Joseph explains. “People can do a session, and if they want to purchase a print, I’m offering 15% off if it’s ordered before Mother’s Day.”
As a local in the area for 16 years, he credits his presence at the Aspen Market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Saturday from June to October for amplifying his reach. It’s a vibrant, Saturday pop-up market where people can browse local art, handmade goods, Colorado-grown food, and other local businesses.
If you are looking for a gift for Mother’s Day, this just might be the “eye-deal” gift.
