Exposing fatty lies

I wanted to thank you for a great article written by Ricki McKenna in her Kids First column (Feb. 5). The problems associated with fast foods, sugary breakfast cereals and the damn lies aimed at kids who cannot tell the difference, told by marketers for the sake of selling something, are shameful.

I would encourage all parents and those who take care of children to resist the easy dinner solution of McDonald’s, Dominos, KFC and the like, and instead make a meal for your children that has at least some quality to it. They may throw a fit today but they will thank you for it later when they can grow up to be healthy.

There are dozens of cookbooks available now that cater to quick and easy, but nutritional, meals. Go to your local bookseller and ask what they have.

Keep up the good reporting!
