Explore Thompson Creek

CARBONDALE – The Basalt-based Roaring Fork Conservancy will host a Thompson Creek Family Exploration from 10 a.m. to noon on May 5 on the Thompson Creek Open Space, south of Carbondale. Participants should meet at Thompson Creek.

The conservancy staff will lead a family-friendly hike to the confluence of Thompson Creek and the Crystal River, searching for signs of animals and explaining why critters like to live near the river. The event is appropriate for children of all ages and their parents. Participants are invited to bring a picnic lunch.

The event is free, but registration at http://www.roaringfork.org/events is required. Call 970-927-1290 for more information.
