Expect delays on Highway 82 east of Aspen

Aspen Times staff report
Aspen, CO Colorado

ASPEN – The Colorado Department of Transportation will be doing chip seal work on Highway 82 east of Aspen Monday and Tuesday, weather permitting.

The surface maintenance work is planned on a seven-mile stretch, from mile marker 42, east of town, to mile marker 49, a half-mile past the winter closure gate.

From 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. both days, motorists should expect single-lane, alternating traffic, reduced speeds and travel delays of about 15 minutes, depending on traffic volume. Crews will sweep the roadway after each day’s work, but loose rock is unavoidable, CDOT warns.
