Everett ‘Sparky’ Wren

Aspen, CO ColoradoEverett Wren was born in St. Louis, to Charles and Minnie Wren, on July 17, 1920. He passed away on Friday, May 18, 2007, in Glenwood Springs.Sparky was a giving man. He envisioned a wonderful life for his family, and made it happen. His generosity of spirit extended to making every celebration with family and friends memorable. Anyone who attended a Sparky planned event or golf tournament will attest to his remarkable ability to make every detail special. Having been married to Velma for 64 years, he was able to share his passion for travel. They adventured around the world. Starting in the 1950s with a cruise through the Panama Canal, they continued their explorations every few years to such places as Europe and Japan, golfing in Alaska and as much time in Hawaii as possible.

He will be missed by all who loved him, and those, here in the valley, who were used to having him drop by.Everett is preceded in death by his parents, and daughter Angela Roth.

He is survived by his wife, Velma, two sons, Charles and Noel, daughter Vanessa, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.Everett was a member of the Marine Air Corps during World War II, and a member of the Snowmass Rotary and American Legion.

The family asks that memorials be sent to the Roaring Fork Hospice and the American Cancer Society.Burial will take place at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
