Essential human services
October 23, 2002
Quality of life. We’ve heard it a million times when people refer to why we all live in Aspen, and herein lies truth in these words.
There is an incredibly unique and tremendous level of quality of life in our community, and an amazing citizenry that lives in this valley. We have a tremendous variety of services offered that help improve the lives of those in need, which also contributes to this incredible quality of life.
From services for our seniors to programs for our children, our local nonprofits are doing all they can to help our community stay strong, healthy and safe.
As board president of The Buddy Program, I see the difference that our mentors make in the lives of the children we serve. Providing a caring adult mentor to a child in need is just one of the vital services of our local human service agencies.
Please remember this as you place your vote on Referendum 1A. Your yes vote will ensure that our nonprofits will continue to receive county funding for the next five years. Let’s help to preserve our community as a place of which to be proud!
Susan Capiel/Collin, president
